National Police have delivered a significant blow against drug trafficking in the Alicante towns of Dolores and Rojales, where nearly 30 kilograms of cocaine have been seized. In the operation, two men aged 36 and 37 were arrested, allegedly involved in crimes against public health and illicit arms possession. In addition to cocaine, hashish, a 9mm pistol with ammunition, 11,420 euros in cash, and two precision scales were found.
The investigation, carried out by the narcotics unit of the National Police Station in Elche, began upon learning that a man was allegedly distributing narcotic substances on a medium scale, acting as a supplier to other distributors. Police surveillance and tracking operations led to the identification of two individuals with distinct roles: one made trips to distribute the drugs while taking protective measures, while the other focused on storage, adulteration, and packaging.
During the operational phase, searches were conducted at the residences of the investigated individuals. Besides the drugs and the weapon, three vehicles were seized, which, according to the investigation, were used to transport the narcotic substance in hidden compartments, known as 'caletas'. The quantity and type of items seized suggest a medium-scale drug trafficking operation.
The detainees were brought before the on-duty investigating courts of Orihuela and Torrevieja. The judicial authority ordered the provisional imprisonment of one of the defendants, while the investigation continues to determine the full extent of the activity.
