Alicante is preparing to experience one of the most anticipated afternoons of the Hogueras with the Flower Offering to the Virgen del Remedio, the city's patron saint.

The city of Alicante transforms this Sunday into the main stage for the Flower Offering to the Virgen del Remedio, the local patron saint. This event, considered Spain's oldest floral offering, has been held since 1941 and marks one of the most emotional moments of the Hogueras de Sant Joan.
The event will kick off at 6:00 PM with the parade of the 45 adult hogueras. More than 10,000 participants will walk the official route, carrying bouquets of flowers that will gradually form a floral mosaic, changing each year in honor of the patron saint. The route includes emblematic points such as the Plaza de los Luceros, Alfonso X el Sabio avenue, Rambla de Méndez Núñez, and San José street, leading to the Concatedral de San Nicolás, where the tapestry will be created. Subsequently, the parade will continue towards the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
The 'bellezas' and 'damas' from each fogueril district will offer their bouquets, in a gesture symbolizing one of the most traditional tributes by the people of Alicante. A mass will be celebrated in the Concatedral at the end of the parade.
The newspaper elperiodic.com will offer highlights from the day, both this Sunday and on Monday, June 22nd, the second session of the Offering, allowing attendees to find themselves and relive these special moments. The second part of the Offering will also begin at 6:00 PM, with the participation of the remaining commissions. The child Bellea del Foc of Alicante and her Maids of Honor will conclude this event. The Offering awards will be presented on Tuesday, June 23rd.
This Sunday's festive schedule includes other events: the jury's visit to the adult hogueras and 'barracas' (9:00 AM), the fourth 'mascletà' in the Plaza de los Luceros (2:00 PM), the reading of the adult hogueras awards (5:00 PM), and evening 'verbenas'.
The Hogueras of Alicante are thus entering an intense phase of the festival, with the emotion of the Offering, anticipation for the awards, and a festive atmosphere spreading throughout the city, before the 'Cremà' from June 24th to 25th.
