The city of Alicante is preparing to celebrate the arrival of the FIFA World Cup with a unique cultural offering. The resident orchestra, Virtuós Mediterrani, has designed a special symphonic concert, 'Concierto en Gol Mayor', scheduled for Thursday, June 4th, at 8 PM in the Alicante Congress Palace. The event, conducted by maestro Gerardo Estrada Martínez, aims to unite the excitement of sports with the richness of classical music.
The concert's repertoire will feature emblematic works from various nations participating in the football tournament. Audiences can enjoy pieces associated with countries like Austria (with Mozart), Germany (with Beethoven or Bach), Norway (with Grieg), and also discover sounds from places such as Japan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Haiti, Algeria, Scotland, New Zealand, or Cape Verde, alongside musical giants like Argentina, Brazil, France, Mexico, England, and Spain.
The evening will be enhanced by an audiovisual show and commentary from the musicians themselves, who will share interesting facts and anecdotes to make the concert more engaging and participatory. The intention is for 'Concierto en Gol Mayor' to be a family event celebrating cultural diversity, demonstrating how art and music can build bridges between cultures.
The musical event will take place on Thursday, June 4th, at 8 PM at the Official College of Physicians of Alicante. Tickets, priced at 20 euros plus booking fees (with a reduced price for children under 12), can be purchased through the Virtuós Mediterrani website and at the Rogel Music store.
