The Federation of Alicante's Hogueras Festival has emphasized the importance of implementing a tourist tax to secure festival funding and has advocated for keeping the Candidate Gala on La Rambla.

The growth of Alicante's Hogueras Festival has necessitated a reevaluation of the festival's model, encompassing infrastructure, security, and financing. Consequently, the president of the Federation has stressed the implementation of a tourist tax that would directly benefit the festival commissions and the adaptation of celebrations to current times.
Furthermore, the president has defended that the Candidate Gala continue to be held on La Rambla, where it took place for the first time this year. However, he has suggested reducing the setup time by one day to minimize inconvenience for residents. The City Council, for its part, has not yet commented.

"We must reinvent ourselves and implement other funding measures that do not involve promoting something unpopular."

The president of the Federation attended the City Council on Monday for the official reception of the new fire representatives. There, he noted that the festival is constantly growing, requiring detailed study plans to be presented to the City Council. These changes, according to the managing body, should address not only economic aspects but also infrastructure.
Regarding security, the president indicated that 2026 would be a challenging year, as 90% of technical projects had expired and required revision. He emphasized that security guidelines must be in place for the festival's benefit, not merely due to City Council mandates.
