Smoke is already noticeable in the town, alerting residents of Forcall, a municipality located in the els Ports region. The concern is considerable, given that the fire has spread from vegetation areas to forest land.
According to reports, the flames were sparked by a truck carrying pigs that had overturned five days prior on the CV-124 road. The vehicle, which was still stranded by the roadside, began to burn on Sunday afternoon. The truck had been there since June 23rd, after the accident, and had not been removed despite the extreme fire danger due to high temperatures.
Currently, authorities have not ordered the evacuation of houses closest to the fire. Several units from the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, GVA Forestals, and air assets from the Generalitat Valenciana are working to control the flames. The operation includes three teams from Bombers Dipcas, four units from Bombers Forestals (one of them air-transported), three air assets from the Generalitat (one helicopter and two planes), along with a command unit and a forest coordinator from Bombers Dipcas.
