The blaze affects a forest area located next to the CV-124, on the outskirts of Forcall towards La Todolella. Due to the fire, the road between Forcall and La Mata de Morella has been closed. Authorities advise against travel to the area and urge adherence to emergency service instructions.
The fire alert initially mobilized one aerial unit, a team of forest firefighters from the Generalitat, and a unit from the Castellón Provincial Firefighters. As hours passed, the deployment was reinforced due to the fire's evolution and the multiple hotspots detected in the area.
According to the latest update, four units from the Castellón Provincial Firefighters, seven teams of forest firefighters from the Generalitat—including two helitransported units—, five aerial resources from the Generalitat, comprising helicopters and planes, a command unit, and a forest coordinator are working on the extinction.
The Forcall City Council has reported maintaining constant contact with Emergencies and will continue to communicate any updates to the public through municipal announcements.
Situation 1 of the Forest Fire Risk Special Plan (PEIF) is declared when a forest fire can seriously affect forest land and potentially have a minor impact on non-forest people or property, although it is considered controllable with available resources or with the support of extraordinary resources if necessary.
