Teachers at the IES La Melva in Elda have organized review classes for students facing the University Entrance Exams (PAU) on June 2, 3, and 4. This initiative runs concurrently with a strike during school hours, with educators dedicating their free time to prepare the students.
The review sessions, which began on Monday after the idea emerged the previous Friday, take place from 5 PM onwards. Around thirty students attend, not only from the host school but also from other educational centers and neighboring towns. Both group and personalized attention are provided based on individual student needs.
This voluntary effort has been widely applauded by families, contrasting with the indignation some teachers feel when labeled irresponsible for striking. The review classes will conclude tomorrow, as Elda prepares to celebrate its traditional Moors and Christians festivities.
