This economic injection, made possible after the liquidation of the 2025 budget, will not only enable new actions but has also facilitated the early amortization of the historical municipal debt, as reported by the council.
A significant portion of this investment will be concentrated in sports facilities. 150,000 euros will be allocated for the improvement and expansion of the athletics track, 30,000 euros for new equipment in other facilities, and 40,000 euros for the acquisition of portable changing rooms to be installed at the sports field.
In the cultural sphere, the budget modification includes a provision of 10,000 euros to improve the air conditioning in the study room of the Casa de Cultura, aiming to enhance user comfort in this municipal space.
The actions will also extend to parks and children's areas. The Environment department will receive an additional 48,076 euros for replacing rubber flooring and renovating children's games, as well as for installing artificial turf in the flowerbeds of Bancal Fondó Park.
For its part, the Urban Planning department will invest over 133,000 euros in improving public lighting. Planned actions include new luminaires on the Damasquinos-Omeyas road, lighting at pedestrian crossings near the Grape Park, and improvements in various city parks.
These investments are in addition to other actions already announced weeks ago, which will also be financed from the positive surplus of 2025. These include the drafting of the project and execution of consolidation works for the Sanctuary of Santa María Magdalena, sound and air conditioning improvements at the Hermitage of Sant Felip, and the second phase of recovery of the north wall of La Mola Castle, projects to which 450,000 euros will be allocated.
