More than 110 people are finalizing details in Port de Sagunt for the premiere of "A Wonderful Lamp", an ambitious musical inspired by 'Aladdin'.

La Unión Musical Porteña (UMP) premieres this Saturday, July 4th, at 10 PM, an adaptation of the famous musical 'Aladdin', titled "A Wonderful Lamp". The show will take place in the Gardens of the Civic Center of Port de Sagunt and will open the ‘Música al Port’ festival, organized by the Culture Department of the Sagunt City Council. Admission is free.
The production will bring together over 110 participants, including the UMP's Symphony Band and Choir, a cast of actors and singers, and the dance group from the Aescena dance school. Preparations for this ambitious project began last October.
The musical direction for the Symphony Band and Choir will be led by Jorge Vivas Baquero, while Leana Ramírez will direct the adult choir. The theatrical direction will be the responsibility of Antonio Ruiz, and the direction of the dancers from Aescena will fall to Magda Fuertes.
In the main roles, Abdón Sampedro will voice Aladdin, Bárbara Gramaje will embody Jasmine, and Víctor Arévalo will play the genie. The UMP already has experience in similar productions, having presented musicals like 'The Lion King', 'Mamma Mia', or 'Queen' in previous editions.
