“"Canet has enormous potential. In the last two years, within our Sustainable Tourism Plan in Destination, we have worked on the planning, investment, and coordination of actions focused on improving our tourism and commercial model, making it more competitive. Today's conference is for the status of that process, but also to reinforce something fundamental: the dialogue between the administration and the business sector."

The town of Canet d'en Berenguer hosted the Canet 360° Tourism Planning and Development Conference, a forum to analyze the future of the sector with the participation of nearly fifty experts.
The event, organized by the Business Association of Camp de Morvedre (Asecam) and the Canet City Council, focused on public-private collaboration as key to addressing current tourism challenges. The conference, held at a local hotel, brought together professionals from the region to seek innovative solutions.
The president of Asecam highlighted Canet's importance for tourism in Camp de Morvedre, emphasizing the quality of its offerings. She added that these meetings are essential for consolidating a high-quality tourism strategy, benefiting from good communication between the private and public sectors.
One of the most anticipated moments of the conference was the lecture by a professor from the Universitat Politècnica de València, who highlighted Canet's current strong tourism performance. However, he warned of potential problems five years from now, such as residential pressure, both from families seeking summer residences and from the installation of the gigafactory.
Regarding saturation, he indicated that, according to data, it only occurs on very specific dates and is manageable. He proposed leveraging off-peak seasons to offer health tourism, wellness, or sports events, as well as a resting place for visitors to trade fairs and business events in València, seeking sustainable growth.
The conference also included a round table on the business vision and opportunities of regional tourism, moderated by a tourist guide and president of the Asecam Tourism Commission. Representatives from merchant associations, international schools, and local hotels participated.
