The Elche Night Race 2026 will bring together 6,100 runners this Saturday, May 16, setting a new participation record for this nocturnal event, which will start at 10:00 PM from the Paseo de la Estación.

The race, offering 5 and 10-kilometer modalities, has become one of the most prominent sporting events in both the Elche and regional calendars. A municipal spokesperson noted that the goal is for it to be «a magical night for Elche sports» and encouraged citizens to participate in the atmosphere of an event that has grown significantly in recent years.

"This edition gains special value due to the Mediterranean Sports Capital designation, and the aim is to try to break the record of previous editions, an achievement considered a milestone in such an important year for the city."

Female participation continues to rise, now reaching 45% of the total, with the goal of reaching 50% in future editions. Of those registered, 2,000 runners will compete in the 5K modality, while 4,100 will do so in the 10K event. The race will also feature prominent national and local athletes, and all participants will receive a finisher medal with the image of Plaza de Baix and Elche City Hall.
The runner's fair will be held on Friday afternoon and on the race day itself at the Candalix Civic Center, known as El Bailongo. This use of the space requires moving the senior dance from Saturday to Tiro de Pichón, where a special party with catering will be held. A councilwoman explained that the dance will take place from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, and those interested in attending should call 669 762 884 between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Free parking will be available, and public transport can be used via the R5 bus to outlying districts.
