Players Josan Ferrández and Léo Pétrot continue without finalizing their contract renewals with Elche CF, with just three days left until their contractual relationship with the Elche entity ends.

The continuity of Josan Ferrández and Léo Pétrot at Elche CF is uncertain with just days left until their contracts expire. According to the club, both players are in talks to extend their commitment, although the final decision rests with the new coach, Argentine Martín Anselmi.
Josan, considered an institution at the club and the sole survivor from the team that competed in the Second Division B eight years ago, has achieved two promotions to the First Division and one to the Second Division with Elche. Although his playing time was less than expected last season, the player has expressed his desire to continue. The club, while acknowledging the ongoing conversations and valuing his historical significance, has not yet reached an agreement.
Martín Anselmi, during his presentation, highlighted the importance of an experienced player like Josan, but indicated that before authorizing the operation, he wishes to personally explain the player's role within the team.
The other player whose contract is nearing its end is Léo Pétrot. The French defender played 32 matches last season, starting 18 of them. His contract included a renewal option that Elche can exercise, but the arrival of the new coaching staff has temporarily put the operation on hold.
The Elche team will begin its preseason with medical tests on Wednesday, July 1st, leaving only three days to resolve the situation of both players.
So far, Elche has only confirmed the signings of Víctor Chust (from Cádiz), Buba Sangaré (from Roma), and Gonzalo Villar, players who were already on loan last season and for whom the club exercised the purchase option.
