“"The works will be executed in four operational phases to allow the progressive opening of completed areas and guarantee access to the beach during the works. The first phase will cover the section between La Sal street and Habaneras avenue, an area chosen for having the least impact on tourist activity during the next summer."

The Torrevieja City Council has awarded the redevelopment works for Los Locos beach to the company Pavasal for an amount of 8,592,352 euros, with an execution period of 18 months.
The decision, approved by the Local Government Board, involves a comprehensive transformation of the coastal promenade. The main objective is to improve accessibility, expand pedestrian areas, and strengthen the connection between the city and the beach.
The project, drafted by a Valencian architect, has been adapted according to sectoral reports issued by both the Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory and the Provincial Coast Service, dependent on the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
The redevelopment foresees more than 1,100 meters of pedestrian coastal area and a total intervention surface of 21,044.75 square meters. Improvements include the creation of new green areas, increased tree planting, installation of urban furniture, children's play areas, and bio-healthy spaces.
Furthermore, the City Council assures that the effects derived from the work will be managed individually to minimize the impact on road and pedestrian traffic, public transport, access to homes and garages, as well as on the commercial activity of the surroundings.
