The municipalist party Cambiemos Orihuela has voiced its support for the indefinite education strike that began this Monday, while also criticizing the statements made by the Education Minister.

In a statement, the party described the Education Minister's words as "profoundly irresponsible" and "very serious." These declarations follow the minister's assertion in a letter to families that "no student can be a hostage of a union conflict."

"Public institutions must guarantee objective information and respect for the fundamental right to strike, not act as instruments of political propaganda."

According to Cambiemos Orihuela, sending this message through institutional channels represents an attempt to "target teachers" and intervene in the labor conflict from within the administration itself. Furthermore, they argue that the education stoppage is "the direct consequence of the abandonment and systematic deterioration of public education by the Consell."
The municipalist party asserts that the strike call responds to a situation marked by "cuts, improvisation, classroom overcrowding, lack of resources, and contempt for the educational community." In this regard, they believe that those who turn students "into hostages" are not the teachers demanding better conditions, but rather the administrations that "deteriorate public services while trying to discredit those who sustain them daily with their work."
The party has extended its support to teachers, families, and the entire educational community participating in the mobilization. They have also called for "a real and decisive commitment to public education," with increased investment and improved working conditions, and criticize the "strategy of confrontation and targeting" that, in their view, the Ministry of Education is promoting.
