The initiative is part of a program by the Second Vice Presidency and Conselleria de Presidència, reaching 22 municipalities in the Valencian Community at risk of depopulation. The main objective is to promote itinerant tourism in inland towns and meet the basic needs of motorhome users, thereby contributing to the local economy's dynamism and a more sustainable tourism model.
In the province of Castellón, the beneficiary municipalities are Xodos, Santa Magdalena de Pulpis, Traiguera, Canet lo Roig, Forcall, Villafranca del Cid, Cirat, Catí, Benassal, Cinctorres, Xert, Bejís, Villamalur, Sueras, and La Vall d’Almonacid. The autonomous line also includes seven municipalities in the province of Valencia: La Yesa, Caudete de las Fuentes, Torás, Benissuera, Villargordo del Cabriel, Pinet, and Zarra.
These service points, also known as service areas, are key facilities for performing basic operations during trips, such as emptying grey and black water, and supplying drinking water. Their purpose is to prevent uncontrolled dumping and improve waste management, organizing the presence of motorhomes in rural areas and enhancing services in inland municipalities.
Through this program, the Generalitat aims to strengthen the network of service points in vulnerable municipalities. Eligible actions include the construction of new infrastructure, the refurbishment of existing facilities, and the adaptation of related land or recreational areas, also covering costs for material execution, technical project drafting, and work supervision.
