The stallholders' collective has expressed their discontent with the municipal decision to install a Ferris wheel in the port area, near the festival marquee, believing it divides the entertainment offerings and draws the public away from the usual Fora Forat fairground.
Those affected state they were not informed in advance of this decision and regret finding out when planning was already underway and fees had been paid. They emphasize that the fair had been located at Fora Forat for years, serving as a key point of the festivals in the capital of Baix Maestrat.
Furthermore, this year their usual space has been reduced, forcing them to set up two fewer attractions. The collective highlights the significant financial effort involved in participating in the festivals, including fees, taxes, transport, and setup. They believe the separation of the Ferris wheel in the port will considerably reduce visitor numbers, impacting the profitability of their businesses, on which nearly fifty families depend.
The stallholders are open to dialogue to find a solution, proposing that the Ferris wheel be installed at the Fora Forat site with the other attractions. However, with less than a week until the festivities begin, the situation remains unresolved, and they maintain their stance.
